L.A. Fire Relief Donation
In January 2025, a series of catastrophic wildfires erupted in Los Angeles, severely impacting communities such as Pacific Palisades and Altadena. The Palisades Fire alone scorched over 23,000 acres, leading to the loss of at least 29 lives and the destruction of thousands of homes. Urban farms, local businesses, and art studios were also devastated, disrupting livelihoods and the cultural fabric of the region.
In response, numerous organizations have mobilized to provide relief and support to those affected. Your generous donations can make a significant difference.
Below are GoFundMe pages to families we personally know:
Please email staff@redondobeachmusicbox.com to submit links for donation referrals of anyone you know who needs assistance from the L.A. Fires.
Here are local music organizations you can support as well:
Pasadena Youth Orchestra: Provides monetary support to students of the Pasadena Youth Orchestra and their partner school, Elliots Arts Magnet, which maintained a large instrument library for PUSD, which has been severely damaged. They also accept gently used musical instruments and music supplies.
Restore Instruments for LA Suzuki Teachers and Students: Suzuki Music Association of CA will fund rental and replacement instruments for Suzuki teachers and students in the Los Angeles area so they’re able to play and teach again right away. They will also help cover rent costs for studio teaching space for those who have lost home studios due to fire.
MusiCares: They provide direct financial aid to music professionals impacted by the crisis. This assistance helps cover essential needs such as temporary housing, medical expenses, and other necessities during the recovery period.
Other organizations:
Direct Relief: Delivers medications, protective gear, and other essential resources to impacted communities.
Habitat for Humanity of Greater Los Angeles: Assists families in rebuilding homes lost to the fires.
Los Angeles County Fire Department Donations: Supports the county's fire department through financial contributions.
Your support is crucial in helping Los Angeles rebuild and recover from this unprecedented disaster.
